I hold an M.A. (Hons) in History and a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE).  I started in the early childhood field with my own three boys – now all grown up!  I was a Playcentre mum, and after my youngest started school I went on to gain my formal qualification.  I’ve taught and mentored teachers in a number of centres in the Hamilton area before my husband’s career brought us to Auckland.

I believe that children learn through play, and they learn best when a skilled adult is there to support them in their play.  I also love seeing children’s eyes open to the wonderful world we live in – whether it’s snuggled up on the couch with a favourite book, watching ants in the grass or getting wet and muddy in the sand pit! Teaching young children is a privilege and a pleasure, and I enjoy meeting lots of new friends at Red Kite Preschool.
