Our teaching team is the key to doing what we do well.  We employ full time, permanent, qualified staff which allows us to invest in our team's professional development, and gives children the continuity they need to feel happy and secure.  Meet our teachers below, or feel free to come in in person to chat through your child's needs and get to know us better.

Joe - student teacher

Joe is a student teacher who is completing his teaching qualification with NZTC.  He is attached to our Centre for a year and works with us on Wednesdays and Thursdays as part of his training.  Joe is married with a daughter and formerly worked in tourism.  He is also an accomplished singer!

Sylvia

I was born and raised in Shanghai before I set out on my own journey to Aucklandin 2014. Working with children is one of my dreams. I completed my Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) in 2018. Equipped with the latest skills and knowledge, I love supporting children at Red Kite Preschool to grow, play and learn holistically.

I believe that learning is happening when children are playing and exploring. Children are born scientists with imagination and curiosity who are ready to explore and learn about the wider world. I am passionate about creating a safe and inspiring learning environment where they can play and explore freely.

Judy

Judy is the one staff member not on the teaching team!  Her background is primarily a business one and she runs the administration aspects of the Centre.  Judy graduated in History and Political Science from Victoria University of Wellington.

In London Judy worked in sales, marketing and business development roles for corporates such as Siemens before joining an Internet startup at the beginning of the tech boom in 1997. After the company was bought out by Cable and Wireless, Judy changed career and worked in property. Her roles later in her career were in regional sales management for big UK housebuilders, managing teams and resolving customer issues.
At Red Kite, Judy takes charge of management and administration but is always at hand for story time.
